Interesting Person Interview Series: Anne

This week's Interesting Person Interview is with my cousin, Anne!  Anne is one of my favorite people - she was in my wedding when I married Scott, and this summer I was in hers as she married her beloved, Harley.

But just as importantly, Anne has been there for a series of especially epic nights - like the one pictured below.  From Margarita Monsoons, to getting a taxi-style ride in the back of a cop car, to marathon phone conversations and funny inside jokes (bubbly "babes").

Her interview, below!

1.  What is your name and who are you?
Anne Elizabeth Harvey Pottinger - I am a daughter, sister, wife, friend, teacher, and life-long learner

2. How do you know Kate?
I am lucky enough to have Kate as my cousinfriend

3. What are you most grateful for in life?
I am the most grateful for my amazing family

4. What is your advice to new parents?
I am not a parent yet, so I am the one who will be needing the advice!  I guess if I am forced to answer the question, I would say, take time out to spend quality alone time with your partner.

5.  What's your favorite holiday? Why?
My favorite holiday is Christmas because our family is all together.  We have a lot of family traditions that I hope to carry on and share with my own family some day.

6.  What are you addicted to?
I am addicted to chewing gum.  It's bad.  I have to have a mint or gum in my mouth at all times.

7. If you could change one thing about your life, what would it be?
It sounds so cliche, but I honestly wouldn't change a thing.  The ups and downs of my life have made me who I am, and I know that every experience has made me who I am today.

8.  What items are on your bucket list?
I don't really have a true "bucket list" - I guess the only thing I haven't had the pleasure of experiencing yet is motherhood.  That isn't a typical bucket list item, but it's really the only thing I hope to experience one way or another in my lifetime.

9.  What do you hope is the same a year from now?
I hope my family and loved ones are still in great health, and that everyone is happy.  Selfishly, I hope I am still at the same school, teaching the students and the subject that I love.

10. What do you hope is different a year from now?
I am hopeful that a year from now Ruby will be only a memory.

11.  What is the nicest thing anyone has ever done for you?
It's hard to pick just one!  I am blessed to have amazing people in my life. Something that stands out in my mind is my husband just knowing when I need a hug. He has an amazing talent to know when I am having a bad day, and he will just hold me.  In that moment, it feels like everything will be okay.

12.  Where is home to you?
Home is now with my husband and dog in Elk River.... however, Harvey's Haven will always feel like home no matter how old I am!

13  Who is your personal hero?
My parents are my heroes.  They both have been through so much, and they have sacrificed so much for their children. They are truly remarkable people.  No matter what life throws their way, they meet the challenge with a positive attitude and a smile on their faces.

14. What is the best time you've ever had?
Marrying my husband, Harley!  I loved having our friends and family together, and knowing everyone was there to support our love.

15.  If you could pick out three words for your tombstone to summarize your life, what would they be?
No Regrets.  (I guess that's only 2.. but I'm a firm believer in saying more with less.... :) )
