"The journey of a thousand miles, begins with a single step" - Lao Tzu
I deleted this goal, and re-wrote it. I deleted it again and re-wrote it again.
1,000 miles over 365 days. That works out to just under three miles a day - every day. About 20 miles per week. That's significantly more than I've ever run in a year before - almost double probably.
I'll be honest, that scares me a little bit. I started running somewhat consistently in December of 2011, and since then, I've run about 15-20 races. Mostly 5Ks, with an 8K, 10K, half-marathon and two obstacle course/mud runs thrown in. I want to love running, but I don't yet, although I love how it makes me feel afterward.
I'm committing to 1,000 miles of running or dedicated walking (that means that walking to the bus doesn't count, but putting on my tennis shoes and grabbing my headphones for a walk does). I'm going to track my progress on this page, with date and miles and I hope to update this at least weekly.
