Quote of the Day: Breath Edition

"I can hear some of your breaths.  That's a good thing.  That's the sound of life" - Judd, Power Yoga Chicago instructor.

I can't tell you how many times I've reminded myself of this quotation over the past few weeks.  Sometimes when I'm doing cardio I get embarrassed by my heavy breathing, but I'm done with that.  The heavy breathing just means that I'm working hard.   Scott and I are running in tomorrow's Shamrock Shuffle 8K, and while 5 miles isn't a marathon, it's certainly more than I'm used to running in one go.

My goals for the race:

1) Not die
2) Not kill Scott when he tells me we can't stop running
3) Finish the race

Not super high standards, but I believe in being realistic.  If you have any suggestions for my race playlist, holler.

  1. I like your race goals. #2 makes me laugh! You guys are going to do great tomorrow, and I have no doubt in my mind you will accomplish ALL of your goals. Here's to carb-loading tonight. In my opinion, one of the best parts of doing a race! :)

  2. Springsteen- Eric Church
Drink in my Hand- (also Eric Church)
Wagon Wheel- Old Crow Medicine Show
    Drunk on You- Luke Bryan
    Baby- J. Biebs
    Teenage Dream- Katy Perry
Party Rock Anthem.... "Every day I'm shufflin...." .... get it??!

    GOOD LUCK!!!
